Praise Adjusts

Praise Adjusts

Posted on October 3rd, 2023

“Praise Adjusts. Praise is the adjuster.” This is the phrase I heard early in the morning of October 3, 2023, as I opened my eyes.

Are you hurting right now? Have you come to a place where you ask, When is it my turn to be healed? Sometimes, we grow weary when we don’t see healing immediately. We begin to compare ourselves to others or even to those in scripture we know who were instantly healed. Or when we don’t see whatever it is in our circumstance turning around favorably, we question. There is nothing wrong with questions. But be careful that your questions don’t turn into doubt, which may lead you astray.

I want to encourage you to stop looking at what you see and start believing in what you don’t see. Believing is seeing. The moment you believe is when you will see (and see again!) Begin to speak and declare that joy is coming in the morning. This spiritual and supernatural declaration holds onto what El Shaddai (God Almighty) and Yehovah-Rapha (The Lord, Our Healer) can do!

Seasons come and go, and you are pressed on every side. But continue to praise and believe. God wants you healed; I believe that. If you are not seeing what you want to manifest in your life and your heart has begun to doubt, stray, or question God’s goodness, start praising God again. Start believing again! You must walk in belief, holding onto His promises. You must keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. You must bring intimacy back into your relationship with God. You must continue singing, listening to, and for that faithful melody. You must also pray for others. Sometimes, getting your head out of your situation will help you see the goodness of God again, as you see others healed because of your prayers and intercession. So, get outward-focused and pray for someone else.

Praise God because it will adjust and refocus your heart to its correct position. “Praise adjusts” was the gentle whisper in my ear as I awoke, so I now share it with you. Praise Him, for He is good. Praise Him when you feel sad and discouraged. Praise Him when nothing seems to be going right. Praising will shift the atmosphere of your heart, and then you will see the atmosphere of your environment changes. Lift your heart to Him and praise Him!

Here are some scriptures to meditate on:

Phil 4:6-9 – the part that resonates most with me is verse 9, which says, “What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me – practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you” (ESV). Paul talks about keeping your thoughts fixed on all the good about God (v8) and following him as he follows Jesus. (I highlighted all the verbs! LOL)

Matthew 11:4-6 – when John the Baptist became disillusioned and disappointed due to his circumstances, he questioned and began to doubt. Jesus says to stop focusing on disappointment and look at what God is actively doing. It would help if you kept an eternal perspective.

Luke 18:1-8 – Don’t stop praying!

Call to Action: Believe to see. Receive, develop, and practice the gift of righteousness (Rom 10:10-12). Declare God’s promises and speak the right words about your situation.
